Turn It Up, Horns Out!
Fun is the whole point.
Brassteroids started the way lots of things do, with a few friends getting together to do something just for fun. Mostly starting playing Lucky Chops tunes, that turned into a backyard concert, which turned into a permanent band, and years later we're proud to call ourselves Eau Claire's favorite local brass band.
While technically we're a cover band, every song we play is uniquely arranged for our instrumentation, so you'll recognize our tunes while hearing it in a way you probably haven't before.
Versatility in Genres
and what you want to hear
A Brassteroids performance bends to fit the room and the venue's needs. We can bring high-energy dance music, mellow out with softer jazz, and wander through pop, rock, and fusion. Our array of tunes is chosen specifically to keep in mind what will leave audiences saying that they had fun, which is the whole reason behind the group.
THE PEOPLE
AND WHERE YOU MAY HAVE SEEN US
We're seven players strong (sometimes six, depending on the night). We're comprised primarily of two saxophones, trumpet, trombone, two bass trombones, with one of them doubling on bass, and our drummer.
Around EC, you might have caught us at Phoenix Park cheering bikers across the Ride Across Wisconsin finish line, at The 410 Bar for the 2026 Eau Claire Jazz Crawl, or at the Mousetrap sharing the stage with Gaff Mountain for the 2025 Crawl.
